“Sierra Breeze” evokes the gentle warmth and open skies of a desert afternoon, where time seems to drift with the wind and the horizon stretches endlessly. This light, jazz-inflected solo showcases the lyrical voice of the flugelhorn, supported by a warm, understated brass band texture that mirrors the soft contours of sunlit dunes and distant mountain ranges.
The solo line should be played with relaxed phrasing and expressive nuance, leaning into the instrument’s mellow timbre and natural fluidity.
