If the perfect spot in your yard doesn’t have a post to hang a bee house—don’t worry! You can easily set up your bee house without digging holes or attaching it to a fence. With this simple method, you can place your bee house anywhere you need pollination, giving your garden a boost without the hassle.
Here’s how to create a versatile, moveable bee house:
1) Fill a sturdy pot with rocks for stability.
2) Add a post and secure it in the soil (I found a scrap piece of wood from our local lumber store)
3) Hang your bee house on the post.
This setup is not only easy but also portable—you can move it around your yard to target different pollination areas.
Important:
Once your mason bees have emerged, do NOT move the house. Bees need to recognize their home location.
After your mason bees are finished for the season, you can safely move the house and replace the mason bee nesting blocks with leafcutter blocks for summer pollination.
This flexible setup keeps your bees happy and your garden thriving!
