From Clean Rawalpindi Air to Smoggy Lahore | 14DN Awam Express Journey Saga

Hello Everyone!
Today I’m sharing a brand new train journey vlog. This time from the clean air of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to the smoggy skies of Lahore. I began my morning at Rawalpindi Railway Station after spending a refreshing night in the twin cities. The air felt fresh and crisp, a complete contrast to what awaited at the end of the journey.

I boarded 14DN Awam Express, one of Pakistan’s most well-known and longest-running trains that connects Peshawar to Karachi. It’s famous for its slow yet lively route with more than 50 stops along the way. The station itself looked cleaner than before, with upgraded waiting rooms and improved food stalls. Before departure, I enjoyed a plate of masala biryani from a restaurant on platform 3, tasty but served cold!

As the train rolled out of Rawalpindi, the single-line sections offered classic rail sights, including a memorable cross with 39UP Jaffar Express at Domeli. The ride was calm and scenic, passing through Gujrat and Wazirabad where the landscapes changed beautifully. A group of young boys joined later, traveling to Lahore for the Pakistan vs South Africa cricket match, and their energy made the trip even more entertaining despite the slow pace.

After nearly seven hours, I finally reached Lahore Junction. The difference was clear... from the clean, cool air of Islamabad to the heavy smog of Lahore. Still, the journey was full of character, local stories, and that familiar railway charm we all love. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the full travel experience.
