The Love Theme from Romeo and Juliette, also known as "A Time for Us" was written by Nino Rota and arranged by Henry Mancini for Franco Zeffirelli's famous 1968 movie. The song competed directly with the very popular rock and pop songs of the timer including hits from the Beatles and The Rolling Stones! In the US it became number 1 in the pop charts. The full soundtrack from the movie won a Silver Ribbon award at the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists in 1968 and was nominated for both a BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards.
