On Saturday the 14th of June 2025, London bus route 241 will be changed. The route currently runs from Stratford City Bus Station to Silvertown, Royal Wharf. On Saturday the 14th, the 241 will be extended to Here East. Buses will serve around five extra stops.

The 241's weekend frequency will also be changed. Buses now run every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes on Sundays. Three extra buses have also been added to the route's peak vehicle requirement.
The 241 will serve Here East, The Copper Box, Kings Yard, Marshgate Lane, East Bank, London Aquatics Centre, Stratford City Bus Station.
As mentioned earlier, the 241 runs from Stratford City to Royal Wharf. The route serves Stratford Bus Station, Stratford Broadway for Moorfields Stratford, Plaistow Grove, Plaistow Station, Plaistow Broadway, Barking Road, Newham Way, Custom House Station, Cundy Park, Prince Regent Bus Station, Thames Barrier, Pontoon Dock Station and Royal Crest Avenue.
The 241 was recently retained by Stagecoach with existing hybrid buses. The route's new contract starts on the 3rd of May 2025. And ends on the 5th of May 2028.
The 241 runs around every 10 to 20 minutes. The route is 5 miles (8 km) long. Meaning a full journey on the route takes around 30 to 45 minutes. The 241 is run by Stagecoach from West Ham (WH) garage. It uses ADL Enviro400s from 2011 and 2012, ADL Enviro400 Hybrids from 2016, And ADL Enviro400 MMC Smart Hybrids from 2018.
The 241 started running in September 1968. The route originally ran from Manor House to Victoria & Albert Docks. And replaced the withdrawn section of route 41 between Tottenham Hale and Victoria & Albert Docks.
The first major change to the 241 happened in June 1973, When the route was cut between Manor House and Stratford, being replaced by the 230.
In June 1976, the 241 was rerouted away from Victoria & Albert Docks. It now served Kier Hardie Estate and terminated at Canning Town.
The double deckers on the 241 were replaced by single deckers in September 1992. However, the single deckers were replaced by double deckers three years later.
In May 1999, Stagecoach retained the 241's contract. And in April 2001, new ALX400s were introduced. The 241 was then retained by Stagecoach for a second time in May 2004. And in February 2008, West Ham garage began running the 241.
In May 2011, the 241 was temporarily cut between Prince Regent and Canning Town. A new free service was created, numbered the 541. This temporary route ran between 2011 and 2015.
In 2011, the 241 was retained by Stagecoach. It was also extended to Stratford City Bus Station to coincide with Westfield's opening.
In 2018, Stagecoach retained the 241, with new E400 MMCs replacing the ALX400s.
In May 2022, as part of the Elizabeth Line bus changes, The 241 was cut between Custom House and Canning Town. And was rerouted to Prince Regent.
In September, the route was extended from Prince Regent to Royal Wharf.
