In this talk I'll be giving an overview of how you can use Python with readily available libraries and tools to realize a modern yet privacy respecting cloudless home automation solution.
We will have a look at how we can implement basic sensors with cheap micro-controllers running MicroPython. MicroPython allows programming of ICs with our favorite scripting language.
I will show how I join different standards together in one home automation hub, called Home Assistant.
