Somehow, Eggman has reduced the ice caps all the way down to lava. I do not know how he even did that, but just go with it. It's transformed into this lava power plant, using ice as a coolant to help the base not explode from the heat, and give out power somehow. It would've been okay if the doctor actually took care of it. The place is running out of ice reserves, so soon it will blow up.
