A documentary about the sinking of the Baltic Sea ferry Estonia and the question of who is to blame for the sinking of the ferry, which sank on 28 September 1994 on its way from Tallinn to Stockholm.
One year after the sinking of the Estonia, the second documentary shows how a surviving crew member returned to sea despite the traumatic experiences.
The Estonia was built in 1980 under the name Viking Sally at the German Meyer shipyard and was in service for Viking Line on the Turku - Mariehamn - Stockholm route.
In 1990, the ship sailed under charter for the Silja Line shipping company under the name Silja Star on the Turku - Mariehamn - Stockholm route.
In 1991, the ferry was sold to the shipping company Wasa Line and operated on the Vaasa - Umeå and Vaasa - Sundsvall routes.
In January 1993, the ship was then sold to the Estonian/Swedish shipping company Estline and renamed Estonia.
The Estonia sailed on the Tallinn - Stockholm route from February 1993 until she sank in a storm on this route on 28 September 1994.
