Woodworking Art: Cutting Board with Tree of Life Inlay

Welcome to Six Wood Studio! In this video, I showcase the intricate process of crafting a unique cutting board featuring an inlay of Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life.

Yggdrasil, a powerful symbol in Norse mythology, represents the interconnectedness of all life. This legendary tree is said to connect the nine realms, embodying strength, wisdom, and eternal growth.

To bring this design to life, I used three noble wood species, each with a story of its own, aged for nearly 30 years:

Oak: Chosen for the cutting board itself, symbolizing durability and timelessness.
Mahogany: Used to outline the Tree of Life, offering a rich and warm contrast.
Beech: Carefully selected to create the intricate details of the tree, symbolizing renewal and resilience.
This project reflects my passion for working with fine woods and creating art that honors their natural beauty. Join me as I transform these aged woods into a functional yet artistic piece!
