While Jon and Steph are away in Canada, Koroi has been holding it down... supervising the boys and making sure the farm keeps running smoothly.
This week’s focus: Cassava planting.
The boys worked hard all week and today, they finally completed planting the last plot. 🙌🏽
A little background: Cassava (or “tavioka” in Fijian) is a starchy root crop that was introduced to Fiji during the colonial era from South America. Today, it's one of Fiji’s top staple foods used in everything from boiled meals to cassava cake.
It’s low-maintenance, drought-resistant, and rich in carbohydrates, making it a vital crop for many Fijian households and farms.
Big vinaka to Koroi and the team for keeping the farm growing 🌾
