Adding an external wastegate (EWG) to the Mazda 2.3L MZR engine is a great way to increase performance, as well as add awesome boost sounds while going full throttle. The EWG reduces exhaust gas back pressure and increases flow to the turbo. This allows the turbo to spool quicker and more efficiently and also delivers a finer control over boost pressure and levels.
