They were introduced to one another in the spring of 1970. Though they were together for a brief time, their deep bond was proven when Joplin’s posthumous final album “Pearl” included “Me and Bobby McGee”, a cover of a song Kristofferson wrote - and he never knew she even knew the song until he heard it after she died. This simple gesture of affection from Janis was the gift that skyrocketed Kristofferson to fame and his life was never the same!
