Apologies to any German viewers, I've been told that I pronounce 'Gewehr' in a very French way. Go figure.
The standard issue rifle of the German army, the G98 is one of the great long range rifles in BF1. It boasts the fastest muzzle velocity of the rifles at a blistering 880m/s and has a sweet spot range of 80m-125m to boot. In comparison, the M1903 has a sweet spot that sits out at 100m-150m but has a slower muzzle velocity.
I have a bit of trouble with the infantry variant's iron sights though, which is why I usually steer towards the scoped G98 if I want to use the rifle. But iron sight sniping in BF1 is still a lot of fun whatever the rifle, and the 98 is no different - its sound design is also pretty spectacular!
