Second in a series of videos explaining how yield to maturity is best understood as a means of expressing the market value of a bond. Yield expresses the market value, or cost of a bond’s contractual cash flows, on a relative basis: the relative cost today per dollar of future cash flow. This video describes how yield is a more insightful way of comparing the cost of future cash flows on different bonds than is available via a comparison of their market prices in dollar or percent of par terms.
