Anesthesia is an important consideration in facial cosmetic surgery, and is one of the most common sources of anxiety for patients who are planning a procedure.
In this video, I use clear, lay language to define the various types of anesthesia, define their respective benefits and limitations, and explain why I prefer the type of anesthesia that I use in my office-based surgical suite.
I also touch on the many different systems we have put in place before, during, and after anesthesia to maximize safety.
Admittedly, the presentation starts out more objective, and incorporates more of my personal opinions toward the end as I describe the methods and techniques I personally prefer.
I encourage you to discuss your surgeon’s/anesthesia provider’s personal approaches with them. They will agree with some of my preferences, and will have differing opinions on others. Reasonable minds can differ!
