Hilary on 91X San Diego

Growing up in LA, we had of course 106.7 KROQ in Pasadena/Los Angeles as thee alternative station. But another alternative signal was coming in at 100,000 watts from Tijuana, Mexico. It was San Diego’s 91X (XETRA-FM aka XTRA-FM). 
In the beginning of the early 80’s, it sounded like KROQ. But I remember 91X started to lean more towards the rock side of alternative. In 1996, I went to visit my ex wife who was working there doing sales. I recall walking into the 91X studio thinking, “Now this is what an alternative radio station studio should look like.” Artist and band posters and stickers (including other radio station stickers) covered the walls. One radio station sticker caught my eye. It was a parody of San Diego’s Star 100.7 (KFMB) logo. It read, “Shit 100.7”. Apparently they made several stickers. Although I loved Star 100.7 back then, I had to have one, which I still have today. IRONIC FOOTNOTE: On the date of recording this aircheck, 91X is temporarily simulcasting its signal on 100.7 (KFBG), as it’s owners, Local Media San Diego sold the 100.7 frequency to Lotus Communications.
Here is Hilary doing middays on 91X on February 6, 2025. In some of her verbiage, she kinda, slightly reminds me of The Slim One (KKHR, KFRC).
