Grigori Rasputin - Mad Priest Of Dark Arts In Hellboy Universe – Explored

For fans of the Hellboy franchise, we bring to you the origins of the infamous Grigori Rasputin. Grigori Rasputin has been called many things, including The Mad Monk, The Dark Priest, and The Dragon, showing how formidable and feared he was. He was born in Pokhofskoy, Siberia, in January 1869 and was nurtured in the Russian Orthodox Church. Rasputin began to develop healing abilities as a child, and he noticed that he was able to receive religious visions, which primarily consisted of Christian symbols. Along with such symbols, he noticed pictures linked with more pagan folklore, such as the shape-shifting leshi and the kosher egg that contained the devil's soul.
He departed in his early twenties to discover explanations for his expanding abilities, and in 1895 he had a vision of the Baba Yaga, who told him he was the father of the new millennium. She did, however, return to him in the flesh 5 years later and handed him half of her soul for safekeeping. Prince Felix killed him when he achieved power and influence in the Russian court. He was poisoned, beaten, shot, and thrown into the river, and in his final moments, he heard the dragon's roar. He answered the dragon's call and swore to help usher in a new world and a new race of man. It was the Ogdru Jahad.
He continued preaching and gained greater power, and eventually, he began to support Hitler and his global conquest. His ultimate purpose, however, was to release the Ogdru Jahad. He worked on the Ragnarok project, but it fell through, and he began to see visions of a kid born from fire. His resting location was discovered far north in 1993, but he had already communicated his consciousness to the dragon and was more or less one with him by that time. A frightening foe.
Grigori Rasputin said that "Every time I died, I crossed over, and little more of the master came back with me." He kept trying to realize his dream and free the dragon as its mortal agent and thus, he encountered Hellboy whom he wanted to use to free the Ogdru Jahad.
