HDR PQ and HDR Mode - Extending Dynamic Range - EOS R5 Tip 24

Today's tip, and the next two tips, all deal with functions that can be used to expand the dynamic range in your images. This tip focus on two methods that are most applicable for non-raw shooters; HDR PQ and HDR Mode. Both of these modes produce either JPEG or HEIF files.

HDR PQ mode uses the HDR Perceptual Quantization curves and HEIF files to store a wider range than JPEG files can offer.

HDR Mode produces a traditional 3 frame stacked and blended HDR file which is then saved as a JPEG.
