In a little over a year, I have done over 22,000 miles in my camper with about 10% off road with a mix of gravel roads and off-road trails. I tow my camper with a 2020 Ford Expedition both the camper and the SUV have a couple of modification that we will get into later.

First Let’s talk about the SUV
2020 Ford Expedition with the FX4 Package.
3.5l EcoBoost V6 producing 375hp and 470lb-fit torque
9300lbs towing capacity when paired with a WDH and has a 1700lbs payload
3.73 electronically controlled limited slip differential, off road shocks,
10-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed electronically controlled four-wheel-drive transfer case
Expedition a heavy-duty radiator, underbody fuel-tank protection, and a set of skid plates, 32” tires and 360 cameras

Let’s talk about the modifications I did to the Expedition.
Firstly, the tires - I stuck with the same size but went with something more aggressive for both the snow and the dirt and I went with wild peak AT3’s 275/70/18
I did want more clearance, so I went with the ready lift 3/2 lifting the from 3” and the ready 2”
Because of the off-road shocks (which as softer than regular) I installed some Sumo Spring Supporters in the ready for towing
Due to the natural of where my travels were going to take me and the fact that I like being prepared for anything I installed a winch on the front of the Expedition - this wasn’t an easy task as no one makes a system for the expedition. So I found the rough country Exo Which mount Kits for the F150 and installed that and paired it with a 12K Warn Zeon winch
I upgraded a roof rack to something a bit beefier that would hold more and give me a ability to install lights.
Finally, I ungraded the light bulbs since the stock lights were terrible.
Now to the interior

Now for the cockpit and my driving system.
To hold my phone and forward-facing camera I went with a Bullet point Dash Mount
To hold my iPad (which I use for navigation both on road and off road) I went for the no drill iPad Mount for the F150 where I also added a mount for camera monitor that connects with the camper.

Now lets get onto the camper…

First the specs.
I have a 2021A Micro Minnie 2306BHS
Total length of 25’
Width of 7’
Dry weight 4500 with a GVWR 7000
Hitch weight of 495lbs
Fresh/Grey/ Black tanks are 31gallons, 25, and 25 gallons.

Now here are a couple reasons I when with my Winnebago Micro Minnie 2306…
Firstly, the name Winnebago is just so America and globally known I knew it had to have quality
The Micro Minnie is 7’ wide making it MUCH easier to travel on trails as well as in the snow the wheels would for the most part travel in the path of the car’s tires tracks.
The torsion suspension is much better for the camper both on and off road
The floor plan worked the best for my family and having that slide really opened up the space when parked for a while

Starting with power. I have 4 x 190-watt solar go power panels on the roof for a total of 760 watts of solar. I paired those with a 60amp ppt solar charger and connected them to 4x100ah 12v Lithium batteries.
I replaced the stock propane tanks with 2x30lbs propane tanks as I cold weather camp mostly

Now for a little extra clearance and what I believe makes things easier I removed the gravity dump system and installed macerator pumps on both the black and grey tank with give me the ability to dump out anywhere. Like porta potties, toilets, pit toilets and regular dump stations.
Since I travel with 4 people and a dog all who only drink water and water is VERY difficult to find when winter camping I installed 2 additional 40 gallon water tanks to keep up with our water usage.
