Ukrainian soldiers raise flag following victorious recapture of Robotyne

UKRAINE said on Monday (August 28) its troops had liberated the southeastern settlement of Robotyne and were trying to push further south in their counteroffensive against Russian forces.

Ukraine's defence ministry posted a video on social media platform X of soldiers describing the liberation and raising the flag in the settlement.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the drone shots as Robotyne from the road’s layout and buildings' structure seen in the video which matched satellite and file imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to separately verify the interior shots, the location of the military men, or the date the video was filmed.

Russia has not confirmed the Ukrainian advance. In its statement, Russia's defence ministry said Moscow's troops had repelled attacks by Kyiv's forces near Robotyne and Verbove.
