The HX81, developed by Rheinmetall, is the German Bundeswehr's most powerful transport vehicle, designed for extreme durability and performance. Powered by a 680 hp V8 diesel engine and equipped with all-wheel drive across its eight wheels, it conquers even the most challenging terrains. Manufactured in Vienna, this impressive vehicle measures over ten meters in length, weighs 23 tons when empty, and can transport loads of up to 130 tons when paired with a semi-trailer. Its two 25-ton winches enable the efficient recovery and loading of disabled battle tanks.

Since 2021, the HX81 has been deployed by the Austrian 14th Armored Battalion as a heavy-duty transport solution, capable of carrying payloads of up to 70 tons. Rheinmetall produces up to 50 units annually, featuring a modular design that allows for rapid adaptation to varying threat scenarios, including an armored cab option. With its advanced capabilities, the HX81 has become a critical asset for military transport operations worldwide.
