Walk 183 Real time | Brunt Knott Summit

Setting out from Ghyll Farm just north of Kendal, our walk begins with a steady climb through peaceful countryside before reaching the quiet, reflective waters of Potter Tarn.

From there, a right turn leads across undulating ground to the picturesque Gurnal Dubs, before tackling the first summit of the day, Ulgraves at 332 metres, offering sweeping views over the South Lakeland fells.

The path dips and rises again over Potter Fell at 390 metres, then onward to the highest point of the journey: Brunt Knott, standing proudly at 427 metres.

A sharp descent drops into the valley, where Brunt Knott Farm marks a change in pace, joining a track that winds through to Birk Field. With weary legs, the final climb returns to Potter Tarn, and the trail eases into a gentle descent, leading back to Ghyll Farm and the satisfying close of a varied and rewarding route.
