Dorothy "Chilli" Bouchier acquired her nickname whilst this song was popular in 1924. In the early days as one of Britain's premier silent film stars, her "bom-bom" hair was very much part of her charm. After a short marriage to Harry Milton, she eventually became the partner of the band-leader Teddy Joyce who died tragically young leaving Chilli heartbroken.
This version of the song is thought to be by a contingent of musicians employed by the Savoy Hotel (primarily from the Havana Band) and was issued on Regal as the Corona Dance Orchestra.
