📌What is the Computer Controlled Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor for QRC, "QRCAC," and how does it work?
The “QRCAC”, developed by EDIBON, is designed for the experimental study of homogeneous liquid-liquid chemical reactions in a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR), allowing operation in both continuous and batch modes.
The reactor is built in borosilicate glass with adjustable working volume, a stainless-steel coil for thermal control, and a removable baffle that enhances mixing. The stirring system, controlled from the computer, enables the study of agitation effects on reaction kinetics.
Its lid includes connections for key sensors such as a type “J” thermocouple and a conductivity probe, ensuring accurate real-time monitoring. The front panel visually represents the layout of all elements for easier understanding.
Reactants are delivered through the QUSC, which allows configuring different reactors and adjusting flow rate, temperature, and operating conditions.
With EDIBON’s SCADA software, the entire process is monitored and controlled in real time:
Intuitive control interface.
Recording of hundreds of data per second.
Graphical visualization of all variables.
The “QRCAC” enables users to determine reaction orders, kinetic constants, rate equations, thermal effects using the Arrhenius equation, and comparisons between theoretical and experimental conversion based on residence time. Its practical approach makes it ideal for advanced training in reaction kinetics and reactor engineering.
