Would you like to see what the 4-H Ham Project hams are looking like as they hang and age in the smokehouse? There are 4 smokehouses in Virginia Beach that our volunteers allow us to use for this project. Hams are smoked until they achieve the desired color and then hang in the aromatic goodness until our show on the first Friday in June.
Our ham show takes place the same day as our 4-H Youth Livestock Show and Sale. The public is welcome and is encouraged to bring money as you may bid to become the proud owner of one of these prized hams and/or a well cared for project hog, lamb, steer, or goat.
