For most of my life, I thought I was weak. I didn't realize that my "cowardice" was actually a survival mechanism. As an autistic person, I learned early on that abandoning my emotions was the only way to stay safe in a world that didn't have space for me.
This video is my attempt to pull out the root of that old narrative. If I sound robotic or look nervous, it’s because you’re watching me unmask in real-time. It’s uncomfortable, it’s jumpy, and it’s the most honest I’ve ever been.
