In this video I perform the Study in E Minor - a dramatic, intense and very satisfying intermediate piece written by the French classical composer and pianist Henri Jérôme Bertini (1798-1876) 🎓. Its thundering passages, powerful chords and hidden polyphonic 'puzzles' make it sound like a virtuosic avalanche 🌊. If practiced mindfully, this Study will offer an incredible training for your entire skillset: whole-arm technique, power and velocity, coordination, timing, voicing, phrasing, dynamics, articulation, pedaling... and also the artistry required to bring this music to life 🎉.
