This is the second part of the discussion of Raga Bilawal. Raga Bilawal is composed of all Shuddha Notes and based on Bilawal Thaat. It is equivalent to the Carnatic melakarta raga Dheerasankarabharanam, as well as the Western Ionian mode (major scale) and contains the notes S R G m P D N S'. It is an ideal Raga to start with, all should have some idea on Bilawal. It should be noted that the discussion on Raga Bilawal, which is divided into lesson 18 and 19 is for very beginners of Raga lessons. This is why, we did nor describe very details of this Raga. From the next lessons, we will start with Raga Bhupali, which will be more descriptive. Objective of this pair of lesson on Bilawal is to give some very start up idea on Raga for beginners.
