I LOVE THE WORLD OF FALLOUT SO MUCH! In this video, Mama’s Geeky reacts to Fallout Season 2 Episode 1, and I am SO glad this series is finally back! As a longtime fan of the Fallout video games, I absolutely loved Season 1 — from the world-building and tone to the deep-cut references and clever Easter eggs — and this premiere proves that Season 2 is only digging deeper into the lore. I didn’t react to Season 1 on the channel, but I couldn’t miss reacting to this new season, especially after that tease at the end of last year. This episode wastes no time expanding the mythology, giving us even more insight into what happened before the bombs fell, which is something I’ve always loved about the Fallout universe. Learning more about the past, the corporations, the experiments, and the choices that led to the apocalypse is endlessly fascinating, and I’m really hoping the season continues to explore this layered history. And yes — as someone whose favorite game is Fallout: New Vegas, I was absolutely FREAKING OUT after the tease last season, and this premiere had me watching every frame closely for clues about what’s coming next. The cast continues to be fantastic. Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Arcane) is once again incredible as Lucy, balancing optimism, trauma, and strength in a world that keeps testing her. Walton Goggins (Justified, The Hateful Eight) remains a standout as The Ghoul, delivering humor, menace, and surprising emotional depth - and Cooper Howard, of course. Aaron Moten (Father Stu) continues to shine as Maximus, whose journey within the Brotherhood of Steel grows more complex by the minute. Kyle MacLachlan's (Twin Peaks, Dune) presence looms large as the mystery surrounding Vault-Tec and the past continues to unravel. Key moments in this episode include the chilling reminders of pre-war arrogance, the contrast between Vault life and the brutal wasteland, subtle New Vegas nods that had me practically yelling at the screen, and the way the premiere sets up multiple converging storylines that promise massive fallout (pun intended) as the season progresses. You might notice Lorie isn’t reacting with me this time, and that’s simply because she didn’t have enough time to catch up on Season 1 before Season 2 began — not because I don’t think she could handle it! Would you like to see us go back and react to the entire series together? Let me know!
If you love Fallout, post-apocalyptic sci-fi, video game adaptations done right, and deep-dive reactions from someone who truly knows the source material, this season is already shaping up to be something special. Don’t miss my first-time reaction to Fallout Season 2 Episode 1!
