Acne is literally non-existent in many populations around the world! Are these populations following the best diet to fight acne? Acne is often preventable and not a harmless part of growing up! Have you heard of mTor before? It might be one of the reasons why so many people eating a western dietary pattern suffer from acne!
The pathological mTor signaling pathway stimulates growth. On the one hand, the growth of sebum producing cells, and their fat production, directly contributing to acne! On the other hand, it stimulates the growth of cancer cells. And it is also linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes and depression!
mTor is stimulated by the consumption of leucine, an essential amino acids which is found in higher concentration in animal protein, especially dairy protein. Insulinogenic foods also stimulate mTor. Thus, the most problematic foods for acne are animal products, high in protein, and flour and sugary products. The worst is the combination of both; low-fat and skim milk!
To eat the recommended amount of leucine, you should eat the recommended amount of protein, and choose plant protein over animal protein! The best diet to figh acne is a low-protein plant-based diet!
