My second song using the Saawanwa language ( the dying language of my heritage that only 30 or so people in the world can speak fluently.) This song is about an entity from one of my fictional worlds. I have a lot more content regarding this character and future projects, so I hope you guys enjoy her!
On another note; many tribes in North America associate owls with death, the afterlife, the spirit world, etc. Some view them completely negatively, and some view them in a more positive light. Owls were historically viewed as being physical embodiments of those who had died and were not at rest, spirits who brought with them a bad omen (usually of death) and sometimes just seen as evil spirits; other tribes viewed them as guides between the realms of life and death, messengers of both worlds, and protectors.

Have you heard of the Owl Maiden's Forest? They say the only ones who can find their way to that forest and meet the Owl Maiden are those children who have become lost, abandoned, or discarded; those who are alone, those who suffer, those whose only company are the bitter unyielding tears that blur their eyes so very often. Sometimes, these lost children find their way to her forest after they have already died, and sometimes they meet her while they remain on the cusp of their last breath
The Owl Maiden offers her hand for them to hold onto and will either guide them across the river of souls together, or change their form into a forest spirit so they can remain with her in that realm between realms. Either way, the Owl Maiden will make it so they never have to be alone again.

Translated into English:
Far away, far away
Beyond there
In the woods,
In the woods,
The katydids are chattering
In the woods, in the woods
Balancing on the limb of a tree
The Maiden of Owls is singing, singing
“Oh, little sisters, will you meet me?”
“Oh, little brothers, will you meet me?”
The katydids are chattering
(Kuu-huu-huu)
To where will you go?
The road comes to an end
Beyond there, flowers are blooming
Come to me,
the ones who are alone,
We’ll go there together.
(Kuu-huu-huu)
Beyond there,
flowers are blooming
The katydids are chattering
To where will you go?
The road comes to an end
Come to me,
The ones who are alone
We’ll go there together
At another place
At another time
The katydids are chattering
