In this episode I provide the history of the Mazda 929, Mazda's first attempt at a luxury car for the North American market. When it reached this market in 1988, the styling was very boxy 80s, but still very boring, and few people associated Mazda with luxury car, instead Mazda was better known for economy and sports cars. An all-new model was introduced for 1992, and was more typical of the 90s with a much more rounded appearance. But it still never caught on, leading to its cancellation by 1995.
