Cumbrian Silage 2023. Baling, loading & wrapping with Claas, Renault & Massey 135 & 355.

First cut round bale silage for the dairy herd started out a dull day but the cloud lifted to let the blue sky and sun watch over the proceedings. Elliott contracting handled the rowing and baling with a Case CVX1170 and Krone Swadro rake followed by a Claas Arion 640 and Rollant 540RC combination. The farms own machinery, a MF 135QD (owned from new and with proper ‘doors off’ air conditioning) leading with a Marshall T4.5 trailer was loaded in the field by a Renault Ceres 345 and Quicke Q750 loader. Back at the wrapping area a Claas Celtis 446RX and Quicke Q40 loaded a static Kverneland Silawrap wrapper powered by a rare black cab MF 355 that has also been owned from new. A lovely day out, a fine crop, beautiful surroundings and great machinery. Filmed in Cumbria June 2023.
