In my attempt to make a pumpkin beer that I might actually like I came up with what I thought was a super-original, genius idea of using Saison yeast to add spice to a pumpkin beer without having to add actual pumpkin spice. Then I learned the lesson yet again that I am not a genius and there are no new ideas under the sun, so my approach here relies very heavily on @TheBruSho 's excellent video about his Pumpkin Saison ( • The BEST Pumpkin Beer is made WITHOUT SPIC... ) as well as Drew Beechum's recipes and tremendous amount of Saison knowledge and experience he's generously shared online. How'd the beer come out? More importantly, did I make a pumpkin beer I actually want to drink? Watch and find out!
