In this video for the University of Maine at Augusta (http://uma.edu) undergraduate social networks course, Asst. Prof. James Cook walks through the task of converting different kinds of 2-mode data (dichotomous, valued, and multiple affiliations) to 1-mode matrices using UCINET software. Depending on the type of data you're working with, you'll want to use different commands with different options selected -- otherwise, you may end up with a meaningless result.
