Tuning Our Cummins 6.7s with the Baldur ECU - Your Questions Answered

In this video, we’re answering all the questions you asked after our video on how we fine-tuned our Cummins 6.7 engines with the Baldur ECU.

This is part of our complete boat refit and engine repower project on Tangaroa, our 78’ aluminum trawler that once ran on old Detroit Diesels. Now with modern Cummins power, the focus is on ECU tuning, calibration, and setup to make sure everything runs smoothly for years to come.

We tackle viewer questions about ECU configurations—like whether you can push a config onto a spare ECU without it being attached to the engine, or if you really need extra laptops to manage ECU files.

We also talk about whether the ECU is the only computer onboard, our thoughts on using analog-style gauges, installing shaft tachs, and the concern about carbon build-up from running the engines at low RPMs. And of course, the question of the day had me working the brain cells—it was a good one.
