We went up to insulate our hives and get them ready for winter. What we got was a firsthand lesson on Hive Robbing and how to deal with this problem when we're in the midst of the dearth season.
After reducing the hive entrances and then finally getting around to opening and insulating full hives in the evening, (the absolute worst time), we finally were able to put the bees to "bed" for a couple months and get them ready to go again in 2026.
We wanted to give a truly heartfelt thank you to everyone that purchased our first year honey and definitely look forward to a bountiful harvest in July of 2026! Also, many many many thanks to those of you that hang in there and watch these videos.
