A bachelor teacher at a men's university chides his students for visiting a speakeasy called "The Blue Angel," only to fall under the spell of its chief attraction, a singer named Lola Lola. He falls for her hard and undergoes a classic spiral of self-destruction. Marlene Dietrich sings four songs.
