Vermont’s 252 cities and towns pride themselves on local decision making and community spirit. Tree wardens, conservation commissions, tree boards, school staff, and abundant volunteers advance their town’s vision of community trees and forests with care, passion, and sweat equity. But having a birds-eye view of the state’s urban landscape (and yes, even in Vermont, we have lots of urbanity) enables the state’s Urban & Community Forestry Program to lead with coordinated technical, financial, and educational assistance.
