I though that I would kick off 2026 with a behind the scenes video of me just practicing. I have always stated that I was not a Natural Born Drummer. My first drum teacher in 1979 refused to teach me and said, "I didn't have an ounce of Rythym in my body." It wasn't until 1982 that I started practicing, and I bought my first 5 piece drum kit. Anyway, it took me years to even play AC/DC and just keep a simple beat. I am going to be 61 years old next week and I am still practicing, trying to get better. So here is my first video for 2026. Practice. I am playing a Gretsch Catallina with 20" Bass drum and Meinl pure alloy cymbals with Zildjian Custom As' also. A Gretsch maple 13" snare drum. A dual hi hat with a DW remote hydrualic hi hat. Remo Rotos 6" and 8" and 14".
Many times right before a gig you have to be able to learn new songs that you never played or heard before. You have like,... 1 day to get them down and tight. The more you practice the better the chance that you can pull that off.
