2025 40th Anniversary Hard Hats & High Heels Gala

On behalf of all of us at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, especially the people we serve, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for supporting our 40th Anniversary Hard Hats & High Heels Gala on September 20, 2025. We are elated to share that we have raised more than $575,000 thanks to the immense generosity of supporters like you.

Together we gathered to honor our past, celebrate the present, and lay the foundation for our future. We paid tribute to the millions of moments that shaped who we are as an organization. Throughout 40 years, more than 26,000 volunteers contributed over 550,000 volunteer hours. Whether those hours were spent raising walls or delivering final touches, every single hour made a difference in someone’s life – and four decades later, together we have built or repaired more than 600 homes and dozens and dozens of community projects, thereby impacting over 50,000 lives.

That is certainly an impact to celebrate, and what a privilege it was to celebrate with you and 550 of our most ardent supporters right here in our Habitat home! The unfinished warehouse was brought to life – each of our hearts brimming with hope and bursting with joy. Together, we built a strong foundation for the future of Habitat – a future where affordable housing is not a privilege, but a basic human right. A future where families don’t have to choose between paying rent and buying groceries. A future where seniors don’t have to worry about losing their longtime home. A future where every child has a safe place to rest their head at night.

In a particularly poignant moment, Habitat homeowner of 18 years, Johnnie, spoke directly to you, our supporters, and her words echoed off the warehouse walls and rang true. “I really want the people who are hearing me now, I want you guys to know that you are the exponential factors that make Habitat for Humanity what it is…You’re building families, you’re building communities, and there has not been one day that I haven’t been grateful for what all of you have done to make our lives better.”

Your support and generosity have set into motion a domino effect of impact with waves of compassion rippling through our community, touching hearts and changing lives. From all of us at Habitat, thank you for celebrating 40 years of building hope, homes, and community – and here’s to 40 more!
