South Melbourne market is the oldest market in Melbourne running continuously since 1867. Today, the market is more than just a place to shop; it's a vibrant community hub where people connect, eat, drink, and celebrate local produce and culture. 

We check out the famous South Melbourne dim sims that have been in operations for over 60 years. Established by the late Ken Cheng, the pint-sized shop is infamous for its sizeable, flavoursome dim sims.

We then go to the food hall of South Melbourne market and check out Market Borek which specialises in dishes such as boreks, pides, wraps, salads, soups, dolma and Turkish breakfast. We tried the spicy lamb and the cheese and spinach

Oysters are a must and South Melbourne seafoods had an exquisite selection of fresh seafood, we chose the fresh oysters Tasmania and South Australia has to provide.

Offcourse our adventure was not finished there as South Melbourne market has an array of food but we decided to try some porchetta sandwiches at Ugo Burrata Bar. The crackling in that pork along the fresh focaccia is enough to entertain anyone’s taste buds.

But even though we were full we couldn’t go past Mama Trans dumplings. Fresh dumplings made on the spot and cooked directly for you. A must when visiting south Melbourne market

Lastly we couldn’t go without dessert and Pieno di Grazia had a treat in store, a must watch on this episode.
