Building Mesiano or simply Mesiano, houses the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento, a renowned world class university of Trento. Historically, this was a sanatorium in 1920. Present day, its not only a part of university, also a renowned landmark of Trento city. It is situated on the mountains, and can be spotted from anywhere in the city. Every year, from 1993 to 2008, on the last Saturday of May or the first of June, the park of the engineering faculty became the seat of one of the most famous university festivals in Northern Italy, the so-called Mesiano Festival.
