My nv4500 5spd Transmission in my 4bt Fummins was having an issue with not wanting to engage into 5th gear.
I found that the ""5th gear fork shift linkage"" was either manufactured incorrectly or is designed for a different top cover, and not allowing the "reverse fork tab" to engage with the slot in the "5th gear link"
Hope this helps or if anyone can confirm that New Venture did manufacture a different style " 5th gear link" would be awesome.
