Here we have her first steam run! She's 109 years old and runs better than me!
The engine's original condition was missing many parts (burner, whistle, pressure relief valve, sight glass and the platform). One of the drive shaft was bent and the paint for the engine frame had deteriorated.
Cleaned and lightly polished the boiler. Was able to find a burner, pressure relief valve and whistle that is original to the engine. Also was very fortunate to find an original platform! Many examples I saw had been missing it.
Also found a smokestack that fits but probably is not an original Plank.
Made a new sight class. Repaired the bent shaft, stripped the remaining paint on the engine frame and repainted it to as close to the original color scheme as I can get.
It's still missing the metal sight glass guard as well as one of the "minarets" at the top.
It could probably use some washers.
I didn't touch the original paint on the base plate.
Enjoy!
