I was finally able to start and complete my first small trailer mission in career mode in Beam NG by reaching level 3 in Branch Logistics. All trailer missions were locked until I finally reached level 3 logistics. I completed a Car Jockey mission at Belasco Autos and that got me enough XP to reach level 3 logistics. Hope this helps anyone stuck with trying to figure out how to start trailer missions.
