So what makes Char Koay Teow / Char Kway Teow so good in Malaysia? Wok Hei and a barefooted uncle cooking👣

This is a shop in Penang, Malaysia 🇲🇾 that we were recommended to try! Tucked inside Pasar Cecil Market is a CKT stall cooked by a 70 year old uncle that is barefooted. It ain’t just for show but his cooking is real, its homey and his pride and joy.

He uses charcoal for fire, the wok is designed for maximum wok hei, he adds prawns, lap cheong sausage and you can opt for duck egg over chicken egg and its creamier and aromatic.

Penang is definitely foodie heaven and wish we stayed longer on our recent trip😭

Without hesitation we would return back to Penang for just the food.
