In 1921 Hungarian film Drakula Halála, known elsewhere as Dracula's Death, became the first (known) film to bear the name of Dracula. In the 100 years since Dracula has become one of cinema's most enduring characters.

Setting a standard from the outset, Dracula's Death bears little, if any, resemblance to Bram Stoker's original novel and over the next 100 years studios like Universal and Hammer would capitalise on the popularity of the count, but so would everyone else. While the likes of Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee would become movie legends for their portrayals, other actors like Leslie Nelson and Luke Evans would be mercifully forgotten. Then there was Gary Oldman, Frank Langella and of course Paul Naschy. But Dracula films were not just about the Count. We also got Dracula's Dog, Dracula's Daughter, Dracula's Granddaughter, his conflicts with Frankenstein, Jessee James and Killer Barbys.
