Philippines Slams China's Dangerous Manoeuvres in the South China Sea

Tensions in the South China Sea have escalated yet again, with the Philippines lodging new accusations against China for alleged incursions and dangerous manoeuvres within its territorial waters. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) released a statement detailing an incident on Monday where a Chinese Coast Guard vessel reportedly sped up and aggressively blocked the path of a Philippine vessel near Scarborough Shoal, a prime fishing area claimed by both nations. Adding to the growing friction, the PCG also reported deploying a plane to challenge a Chinese research vessel operating in Philippine northern waters near Taiwan.  Furthermore, the Philippine Navy reported the recovery of five aquatic drones of likely Chinese origin in Philippine waters. Three of these drones were recovered last year, with the other two found in 2022. Watch this video to know more.
