In this homily for the Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C (2025), we reflect on one of the most essential questions of the Christian life:
“What must I do to inherit eternal life?” (Luke 10:25)

Jesus answers this question not with a checklist, but with a story; the Parable of the Good Samaritan. In this homily, we explore how true Christian love is, not just about emotion or obligation but about action that costs us something. Like the Samaritan who stopped, risked, and gave of himself, we too are called to love beyond boundaries; beyond fear, comfort, and convenience.

We are reminded that the wounded person on the roadside is not far from us, it could be anyone in need today. And Jesus Himself is the perfect Good Samaritan, who came down into our brokenness to lift us up.

Let us rediscover the path to eternal life: not merely in knowing God’s law, but in living it out through radical, selfless love.
“Go and do likewise.”
